Agreement signed by 375 phonograph record and 70 electrical transcription manufacturers founded the Recording Musicians Performance Trust Fund with Samuel Rosenbaum serving as trustee

1952

350 Pennsylvania high school students awarded scholarships

1958

First matching grant awarded to Young Audiences Arts for Learning

1967

First American Folklife Festival with the Smithsonian Institution during Jazz Appreciation Month

1970

MPTF receives Certificate of Appreciation from the New York City Mayor John Lindsey

1979

Grants awarded for $1 million in performances

1980

First National Veterans Creative Arts Festival

1983

Music 4 Kids program began (now Music in the Schools)

1993

First Broadway on Broadway Festival (now Curtain Up Broadway Festival)

2000

MPTF sponsors 100 concerts in coordination with Louis Armstrong’s 100th birthday

2001

Following 9/11 attacks, MPTF co-funds a Broadway tour, led by Sandy Duncan, visiting 14 cities in 16 days to draw theatergoers back to New York City

2005

MPTF sponsors performance at Playboy Jazz Festival, Hollywood Bowl

2015

First year of MPTF MusicianFest in senior centers (4,699 performances, $1.2 million+ in funding to date)

2019

MPTF Never Too Old documentary released (finalist at The Cutting Room International Short Film Festival)

2020

First MPTF livestreamed event sponsored (1,500+ events to date)

2021

March Women in Song Festival in Toronto (co-sponsored with FabCollab) sets MPTF streaming record of 3,500 viewers
