Sponsorship

Musicopia

To maximize its ability to provide admission-free programs, MPF enlists co-sponsorship by other organizations. Sponsors may include major corporations, small local businesses, arts councils, municipalities, school boards - organizations interested in providing a public service, while enhancing their reputation and visibility in their communities. Co-sponsors are encouraged to publicize their contributions and receive full value for their participation, since virtually every dollar of co-sponsorship funding goes to pay for the performing musicians.

All co-sponsorship funding is tax deductible, since MPF is a non-profit, tax-exempt public service organization under section 501 (c) of the Internal Revenue Code. MPF assumes the cost of pay-rolling and insurance for all programs, while Locals of the American Federation of Musicians assist in administering local programs. When co-sponsors contribute a portion of the cost of a specific program, their check is forwarded to the Trustee, and MPF acts as paymaster, guaranteeing prompt payment to the musicians and coverage under Workers' Compensation insurance.

The roster of MPF co-sponsors is long and distinguished. It includes such diverse organizations as the Anheuser-Busch Companies, American Express, Bose Corporation, AT&T, Sony, the Archdiocese of Chicago, Harvard University, the Hard Rock Cafe, Hallmark Cards, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (presenter of the Grammy® Awards), Goodwill Industries, the Children’s Creative Workshop, and thousands of local businesses, newspapers, radio stations, arts councils, parks departments, city, state, and provincial governments, and school districts.
